Our clinic director, Dr. Jiangpeng Ma, the professor in Biochemistry at Baylor College and professor in Bioengineering at Rice University, leads many cutting-edge researches in molecular biology and biomedical engineering in United States. All our licensed acupuncturist staff have master degree in Chinese medicine from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).

Jianpeng Ma (PhD, LAc)

Jianpeng Ma (PhD, LAc) is a Lodwick T. Bolin Professor in Biochemistry at Baylor College of Medicine and a professor in Bioengineering at Rice University. He has his bachelor and doctoral degrees in chemistry, and received his last research training at Harvard University under the guidance of 1976 Nobel Laureate Professor William N. Lipscomb and 2013 Nobel Laureate Professor Martin Karplus. He joined faculty of Baylor/Rice in 2000 and since then he has been conducting cutting-edge research in molecular biology and biomedical engineering. Professor Ma is also a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine herbalist. He received his Master degree in Chinese medicine from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Professor Ma integrates his scientific research into his clinic practice, which provides him with a unique edge in understanding and treating various medical conditions. He has received numerous awards including 2004 Norman Hackmann Award in Chemistry from Welch Foundation and Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Excellence in Research Award. He is elected fellows of many professional societies including the American Physical Society (APS), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

Qiaosha (Sylvia) He (LAc)

Qiaosha (Sylvia) He (LAc) received her bachelor degree in B.S.E.E. and master degree in business at Tsinghua University which is the top one in China. She received her Master degree in Chinese medicine from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Sylvia is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Texas. She was born in a big family of several medical doctors and has been immersed in Traditional Chinese Medicine especially the ethnic Zhuang and Yao Medicine more than 30 years. Growing up in Guangxi province in China, a region particularly rich in potent natural herbs, she has long experience in Chinese medicine and now she applies her knowledge to help patients. Her passion and vision in Traditional Chinese Medicine encourage her to establish the Institute of Traditional Zhuang Chinese Medicine and the Institute of Traditional Yao Chinese Medicine. For the past 5 years, she has devoted enormous time and fund to promote the scientific research and awareness in Traditional Chinese Medicine, seeking to help people to get the ultimate benefits from this amazing natural healthcare.
